Dragon Mystics by Jaymin Eve-4.5*

Okay, so the first thing that I am going to say is, I read this book in one go and finished at 0129 hrs last night.

Second thing I am going to say is, WOW!

This book’s beginning was a lot like one of my favorite books King Cave with all the hidden sanctuary made by a couple people from different sup races come together and a golden wall to protect it from detection-hence the 4.5 and not a 5*-but all of my doubts dissipated as soon as I saw the inside of the sanctuary with all its desert, cliff, forest, ocean thing going on. Not to mention the skyscraper.

Mischa was just plain annoying though. So spineless, gullible and weak. I want to slap the bitch on the face. Sure she grew up amongst humans but naivete is just plain annoying.

So Max got mated to the vampire bitch Cardia with her fake pretend nature…..so what? Wasn’t it always a given that Max would have a mate that was not her? And on top of that she fell in with the fruit twins. Which was hilarious by the way. Orange and Lemon! It suited the slimy bitches though.

Eve really surprised me by making the twins so….well…..unlike what I had imagined. I was all out imagining sexy, tall Amazons and there she goes busting all of that and still being perfect.

Oh and mama, that Faerie forest scene with Braxton and Jessa!

Unf! Unf! Unf!

God the way Eve developed their relationship! This is where a lot of the most common mistakes are made. Sure I love the dirty-talk, but there needs to be the heated build-up before it for me to enjoy the fucking scenes.

And boy did I enjoy them.

The chemistry between Grace and Tyson….I loved the start of their build-up. I am hoping to see some action between them in the next book.

Speaking of action…..

Larkspur……(the dragon-king)

*sigh*

I know. I know. I seem to have a thing (read: a chronic case) for the heroine having sex with the sexy villain. But Larkspur is so gorgeous! I know he is evil and she will probably kill him at the end but still! Gorgeous is gorgeous!!!!!!!

What I was totally not expecting though, was that the fruit twins would turn out to be his daughters. And they were!

And he was an uncaring bastard too!

I also want to see some action for Braxton. Poor guy. After so many years of pining, the girl who is his mate finally fucks him and then she is taken away by the evil-but-oh-so-fuckable dragon king.

And god when he snapped the neck of one of the little bitches….I was so fucking satisfied. I have a thing for violence too. Hence my five star rating for King Tomb.

All in all, this book was one amazing story with everything that a girl could want in it. A strong heroine with a sassy mouth, a reverse harem, awesome sex, adventure, and a lot of action.

And there were harpies!!!!

King Hall by Scarlett Dawn

I have waited a long while to write this review. I discovered King Hall around December last year and, I exaggerate not, it was just as good the fifteenth time I read it as it was the first.

Okay so to say that I was shocked would be an understatement.

I had recently reread all of the Shelly Laurenston and her altego GA Aiken books and I was hooked into the concept of alpha female. I have discovered it is my favorite genre since then but all ranting aside….

Holy lord and his mother….

This book was amazing. I went into it thinking it was going to be another one of those not bad but not good books but it took me by surprise and smirked at me while I was down on the ground and reeling from the sheer awesomeness that is Scarlett Dawn.

Lily Ruckler is a hybrid child, vamp and shifter, but in no way did she hog the book like the Ember from Darkness did. This book had a plot and that plot was good. SD let us get acquainted with all of her characters in this first book and didn’t make the heroine virgin.

Thank the holy lord for that.

Not to mention, after the tragic incident in which Lily lost her mate, she didn’t pull a Bella. She went out there on a….ahem….spree of fucking.

And oh my god that scene where she confesses that she had sex with a bird shifter and had bird for dinner after it?

Hilarious!

Lily was just an NA with all the new adult problems and no solution for them. But she grew up and owned the shit when it was clear that she was going to be the next Queen Shifter.

The bonds of friendship that this book demonstrates are to perfection. All of them love each other like family and all of them are open about it. All of them have a space of their own in the book and all of them get a voice.

And thank god that there were no miscommunication problems.

There were some spectacularly common scenes like the Graduation and then there were some spectacularly cool scenes like the building of the dome of water.

There were fights, babysittings, action, tears, hot daddies (read:Antonio and Cahal), backstabbing bitches, fangs, hot men and their hotter than shit bodies and thank god, not much drama. This book had everything, every little step of the transition that Lily made from being a Sophomore to a badass (know what I mean? huh?huh?huh?) Prodigy Shifter.

My favorite thing about this book is that it’s heroine is not a helpless and spineless little bitch with too many hot men pining after her and her blushing virtue.

Cuz Lily had no virtue to speak of.

She has a sexual life, a Queenly life, a behind-the-walls life and she kept it all balanced with her focus on being queen, and she got the degree.

Speaking of degrees….

Was I the only one who wet my panties at Lily’s and Ezra’s dance or what?

And OMG all those embarrassing scenes with King Kincaid and King Venclaire catching Lily and Ezra together?

Ridiculously hilarious!

I can go on and on about my love of this book and Ezra and I do love him. Why would I not? He’s perfect.

None of the heroes are assholes. There are no communication problems. Through it all, they know that the three people they can depend on are the other three of their Quartet.

That scene when all of them are charged with changing diapers?
And then when all of them fall asleep in the limo on the way to Washington DC?
Oh and when they wake up on top of each other, with more than a few wandering digits, while they are camping?

I have laughed, cried, held my breath and cursed more times than I can count while reading this book and I can honestly say that this book will stay with me throughout my adulthood like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson remained with me throughout my childhood.

I am going to read this book again and again and again and hope to god that I never run out of books like this.

Oh mamma……

This book had all of the things that I look for in SD books. Namely:-

1. A warrior heroine with a spine of steel
2. A heroine who is sexually independent and rather demanding
3. A hero-or heroes-who were all unassholish. You don’t even know how rare that is. It’s practically nonexistent.
4. A heroine who is not a virgin.
5. An intro-series plot that I can follow
6. This was different from the King Trio. I thought that this would have at least some reflection of it but it was perfect and I was wrong. I’ve never been so glad to be wrong before.
7. The sexual tension….oh mamma…it practically jumped at you from the pages
8. Witty repartee
9. Troublemaker heroine
10. Humorous situations
11. Steamy, hot, rough, dirty-talking, panty-soaking, low-down sex

This book was perfect.

There was just enough of Lily’s posse to keep me from nostalgia and there was just enough of Caro’s posse to hook me in.

I am now patiently waiting(read: checking SD’s social network everyday and badgering her) for the next book. I want more Leric. I hope Caro has sex with Merrick and Brann and I hope she ends up with….well this is the difficult one.

Caro was on hell of a girl. She has a rough past she is not ashamed of. She has priorities she is not ashamed of. She has a body she is not ashamed of. She is witty, savvy with a gun, quick to the rescue, daredevil and a troublemaker.

Sin is just everything that a girl needs. I would love to see his relationship with Caro or maybe some other girl in the future. He is the kind of guy that makes a perfect mate.

Hot, tall, black, dreadlocked, tattooed…..Leric….
Not to mention that attitude. He is protective of Caro without crowding her space and he pushes her to be the best. Not to mention….Tristan!!!!!D’ya love that tiger or what?

Not to mention Dawn’s naming Caro’s Vizoac Isolde. Bonny and Clyde. West and Buttercup and now Isolde and Tristan!

OMG!!!! Have I even mentioned how happy I am that Jack and Pearl are pregnant. I bet their child or Eric is going to be one amongst the next batch of prodigies. I mean, didn’t we see the same thing with Cahal and Ezra?

I am ranting, aren’t I?

But this book was so fuckin perfect!!!!!
Amazing!
And man that King Hall fiasco!

Am I the only one who finds London sort of adorable?
